BILD in Germany now reports that RB Leipzig are now in the race for the Kone, who are seeking a midfield replacement for Konrad Leimer, who is touted to leave for Bayern Munich upon the expiration of his contract in the summer. Leipzig view Kone as an ideal successor to Laimer in their midfield.
The 21-year-old can play as a defensive midfielder, but he can also be utilized in more attacking areas in the centre of the park. Given his youth, his versatility, and growing potential, Kone feels the perfect target for Jurgen Klopp, who will need a midfield rebuild in the summer, with many players set to depart the club, such as James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who are out of contract in the summer.
Liverpool fans will hope that Klopp can convince Kone to leave Germany and be a leader in his potential new-look midfield next season.
