Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp spoke in a press conference prior to Liverpool’s match against Manchester United at home.
This fixture begins a difficult period for the German boss and his players as games against Manchester City, Chelsea and league leaders Arsenal follow shortly after, in a season-defining period for the Reds.
Klopp was asked about Liverpool’s ability to clinch top four and the achievability of this feat.
“I said before the last week this is the week, I’d like to give this season a proper push. We have strong opponents, but we know if we play anything is possible. I would like to squeeze everything out of the season.”
Klopp was also asked whether he relishes these occasions, given the difficulty level is starting to turn up a notch.
“It’s what I enjoy most. I mentioned it many times and everybody knows it anyway, there are so many things more important than football in life,” he said.
“Around these football games, we put ourselves out a little bit, out of this sometimes not so nice reality and dig into this game. And I really like that, that’s when football is the most important thing for this 95, 98 minutes, I love that.”
Jurgen Klopp has assured supporters that these next few weeks are integral to the status of Liverpool this term, and that they will do all they can to pick up as many points as possible in their pursuit for those top four spots.
