Liverpool have recalled another young player from a loan spell, with Owen Beck returning from his stint at Bolton Wanderers.
This is Beck’s second loan that has been prematurely cut short this season. The left-back, 20, spent some time at Famalicao in Portugal but was then sent back to England to go on loan to Bolton, where the young Welshman has to find consistent first-team football.
Liverpool seemingly recalled Beck because of the lack of first-team football he was being afforded. The youngster is admired by Jurgen Klopp, who labelled him a “super talent” last summer.
Beck is also highly regarded by fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold who said of the 20-year-old:
“He’s impressed a lot of us with the way he is. He’s still growing, he’s still maturing as a lad, he’s got a lot to learn but the signs are there that he’s going to be a top player.”
“He’s obviously got Robbo and Kostas ahead of him – hopefully being in and around them he’ll be able to pick up things and learn from them. He got the opportunity and took it.”
