Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update on Virgil van Dijk. Klopp confirms that Van Dijk will be out ‘more than a month’.
Van Dijk is now a doubt for Liverpool’s Champions League tie with Real Madrid.
“It was a surprise for us, a big blow. He didn’t feel a lot. I took him off actually.
“In the end, the diagnosis was pretty harsh. We talk about weeks, more than a month.
“We have other centre halfs. Everything is okay for the team but for Virgil it is harsh. He played an incredible amount of games over the last number of years, so we cannot use him on the pitch at least, but only off the pitch, we will do that.
“It was one sprint too many”, Klopp added.
