Jurgen Klopp’s current Liverpool contract runs until 2026, but the German indicated in his post-match interview yesterday that he is ready to spend another decade at Anfield.

On the occasion of Klopp’s 1000th game as a manager, Liverpool earned a point after a tense 0-0 draw with Chelsea, which Klopp referred to as a “little step” in Liverpool’s attempt to build some momentum in the Premier League.

Klopp was in a reflective mood after the game when he was asked about his motivation to continue on as the Liverpool manager. Klopp said;

“My motivation [for the Liverpool job] is no problem. I am a bit like Obelix, who fell in the… You know Asterix and Obelix? Ah, you don’t know it; forget it, it’s obviously a German joke then. I have enough energy for another 10 years if you want!”

Klopp has won every major honor in English football as the Liverpool boss, as well as the FIFA Club World Cup in 2019, but it seems the German’s desire is to add more trophies to his cabinet. Liverpool fans will be glad to hear directly from Klopp that he has no plans to leave Liverpool for the foreseeable future.
