Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was left impressed with his side’s performance in the 3-1 win over West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Reds saw off the Hammers to extend their unbeaten run to 18 games. Mohamed Salah gave the Reds the lead against the run of play with a penalty but Jarrod Bowen levelled for the visitors with an excellent stooping header.

Darwin Nunez put the hosts ahead before Diogo Jota sealed the points when he pounced from close range to turn home Virgil van Dijk’s header.

“We caused them problems and scored super goals. Ali made an unbelievable save in an important moment. We were really playing and stayed in the game until late. Joel Matip had a super performance against Antonio,” Klopp said.

“Difficult game. Very good moments in first half. Not in control enough to deny them completely. We played good in different places. Lost some balls we shouldn’t have lost. When they scored I wasn’t completely surprised.

“We have to get used to different things. The penalty came from a counter. Sensational pass from Darwin to Lucho. Mo arrives completely free. If not fouled, he probably finishes it off. It looks positive. These boys are good footballers.

“We were better in possession. There was a really intense period, great pace. We thought about changing but kept it calm. A lot of good stuff. It’s really good.”
