Mike Verweij, writing for De Telegraaf, has revealed that Julian Ward is one of the candidates linked to the Ajax Sporting Director’s role.

He points out that Ward speaks numerous languages fluently and specialises in Brazilian and Portuguese transfer markets.
Verweij states that Ward was at Liverpool during one of the most successful times at the club and is credited with his involvement in bringing in players like Fabinho, Darwin Nuñez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, among others to Anfield.
Ward is set to leave Anfield in July after just one season in the role.
