Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has led the way in encouraging all fans heading to Liverpool’s game on Friday night to donate what they can to support the North Liverpool Foodbank.
This campaign is part of the LFC Operation Christmas Magic campaign.
Fans attending tomorrow’s game can donate non-perishable food donations at the collection points, which are located on Flagpole Corner outside the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, the Anfield superstore on Walton Breck Road, and Homebaked bakery on Oakfield Road.
The Flagpole Corner drop-off point will open three hours before kick-off at 5pm and will close15 minutes after kick-off.
Food can be dropped off at the Anfield superstore during its opening hours and at Homebaked before kick-off.
Joe Gomez, said: “We are really looking forward to playing back at Anfield this week. If you’re attending the game, please make a food donation if you can, which will support foodbanks in our city.”
All food collected will be donated to the North Liverpool Foodbank, which provides local people in food crisis with essential three-day food parcels.
The North Liverpool Foodbank has already supported thousands of individuals and families in the lead up to Christmas.
We encourage people to give as much as they can on Friday. Liverpool fans’ tremendous kindness is recognised worldwide.
Supporters not attending the game can also donate directly to the North Liverpool Foodbank by texting FOODBANKFC to 70460 to donate £5 or by visiting www.standrewslive.org.uk/donate
