L’Equipe are reporting that Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is set to be dropped for France’s game against Denmark as Didier Deschamps is set to name Raphael Varane in his starting team.
Konate had a solid display in his first-ever World Cup appearance and Liverpool fans seem bewildered as to why he wouldn’t retain his place in the starting XI.
In just his third ever appearance for Les Bleus Konate had a commanding display alongside his former club teammate Dayot Upamecano.
If reports are correct Didier Deschamps is set to name the experienced Raphael Varane to play alongside Upamecano.
Expected starting XI:
Lloris – Koundé, Varane, Upamecano, T.Hernandez – Tchouaméni, Rabiot, Griezmann – Dembélé, Mbappé, Giroud.
