First came the announcement from Liverpool’s official Twitter. In a series of quickfire tweets, the LFC social media team confirmed the news of Gakpo’s signing.

Back in the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven did their own emotional homage to their former striker by uploading a compilation video of Gakpo’s highlights at the club, from his time in the youth ranks all the way through to the first team, along with a message to Liverpool.

Even former players couldn’t hold back their excitement, with former Red Ryan Babel sending Gakpo a crown emoji on Twitter.

Many LFC fans were quick to highlight the role that Van Dijk played in the transfer of Gakpo.

It seems that some have already created a new chant for the incoming star.

With some thinking of what the future might be for Jurgen Klopp’s side if The Reds secure the signing of Jude Bellingham too.

While others were quick to poke fun at arch rivals Manchester United, who were heavily linked with a move to Gakpo from the summer until news broke of Liverpool’s move.

It seems that fans everywhere are excited about the news of Gakpo’s arrival at the club.
