Highly-rated staff member set to leave Liverpool at end of season

Another staff member is expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the current season.

Liverpool have been dealt another blow as another highly-rated staff member is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Reds are already dealing with the inevitable departure of Jurgen Klopp in the summer, after he announced he will step down from the role at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Along with Klopp, first-team coaches Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, and Vitor Matos will also depart Anfield as the club prepares to enter a new era.

However, Liverpool are expected to confirm that another one of their senior staff members will leave the club once Klopp steps away from his role.

According to This is Anfield, “Liverpool’s assistant goalkeeping coach Jack Robinson is set to leave the club this summer.

“The Englishman will join John Achterberg in departing as part of the post-Jurgen Klopp reshuffle taking place behind the scenes at the AXA Training Centre.”

Robinson is understood to be eager to take charge of a goalkeeping department elsewhere, and his services are expected to be in high demand following a successful stint at Anfield.

He started his role as Liverpool’s first-team assistant goalkeeping coach in September 2018.

He joined the club from the Football Association to assume a new position alongside John Achterberg in the Reds’ backroom setup.

Before his two-and-a-half years working with England’s U15-17 stoppers, he had stints with Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Leeds United.

Liverpool’s goalkeeping department has also featured Brazil legend Taffarel since 2021.

He was encouraged to join by Alisson, but it remains unclear if he will continue to be part of Arne Slot’s backroom team moving forward.

The Dutchman’s current goalkeeping coach at Feyenoord is Jyri Nieminen.

This is Anfield further stated that “the future of the last remaining current goalkeeper coach, Taffarel, has also yet to be clarified.”

Slot is already poised to bring several members of his coaching team with him, with assistant Sipke Hulshoff set to join after stepping down from his role with the Dutch national side.

Head of performance Ruben Peeters and technical advisor Etienne Reijnen are also expected to arrive, although Feyenoord are hesitant to lose their entire backroom setup.
