Jamie Carragher’s former side, Liverpool, came crashing out of Europe’s top-tier club competition on Wednesday night.
Now, the pundit has now displayed affection for another team still in contention for the title.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side couldn’t produce the unthinkable on the night, and so the reigning champions continue their status into the quarter-finals.
The Merseyside outfit now face the enticing race to be involved in next season’s competition as they battle it out domestically for a top-four spot.
The remainder of the competition sets up to be an all-timer, with Manchester City vs Bayern Munich and Chelsea vs Real Madrid next on the agenda for football fans.
One of the more enthralling teams left is the Italian side Napoli.
Luciano Spalletti’s side from Naples are currently at the top of Italy’s top flight and are in flying form in the Champions League, too.
They have almost become everyone’s favourite second team and has certainly become Carragher’s.
Taking to Twitter, the ex-Liverpool defender stated how he’d love to see Napoli cause a somewhat upset by winning the lot now his team are no longer in the running.
An all-Italian quarterfinal awaits for Carragher’s favourites, with AC Milan primed to flourish in a competition they have a such rich history in.
