Liverpool are set to undergo yet another major season of change this summer, especially as Jurgen Klopp will be departing his post as Reds manager.

Arne Slot is the man tipped for the job with the Dutch manager even talking in past tense when asked about his Feyenoord squad.

The former AZ Alkmaar coach has been part of an exciting era with the Rotterdam-based club and has turned the clubs fortunes around.

He has created many ever-lasting memories with the club and looks set to be etched in their history for the foreseeable future.

We have previously looked at some key moments in Slot’s managerial career and found that he is much more successful than we first thought.

Although Slot’s appointment may feel a little underwhelming, it goes without saying that fans should trust the judgement of Michael Edwards and co. as they are yet to really sway the club astray of success.

The 45-year-old’s takeover could be exactly what the Reds need as over the last month or so, their performances have declined.

Granted, in their last game they managed to obliterate Tottenham in a 4-2 win, however, this doesn’t excuse the fact that the club have been knocked out of both the Europa League and FA Cup in recent weeks.

Although Slot seems to be the right man for the job, fans deserve to have some scepticism around his appointment.

As, the last manager to come from the Eredivisie (Erik ten Hag) is yet to cause a stir in the Premier League.

However, according to former Ajax striker, Wim Kieft, he believes that the current Feyenoord boss is a “better” manager than Ten Hag.

Why Wim Kieft believes Arne Slot is “better” than Erik Ten Hag

Speaking to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Kieft said the following:

Everyone is rightly enthusiastic about him,”

But that was also the case when Erik ten Hag left Ajax for Manchester United. However, you can say that things are not going so well there.”

Ten Hag’s reign with the Red Devils has been far from straight forward, however, as aforementioned, they have managed to defeat the Reds on three separate occasions this term.

Despite this, Kieft insisted that Arne Slot has a “better vision” than what Ten Hag does.

However, Slot has a better vision than Ten Hag, Slot undeniably makes players better individually, such as (Orkun) Kokcu, (Mats) Wieffer, (Lutsharel) Geertruida, (David) Hancko, (Igor) Paixao and this season also Quinten Timber.

Before Slot, (Timber) was a dime a dozen football player. But he has now added specific qualities to his game.

Timber has become much more dynamic, often gets into the opponent’s box and scores regularly.”

One positive that Liverpool fans can take from this is the fact that Slot can help develop players into world-class assets.

Not only has this been proven with the aforementioned players, but, it has also been done with Teun Koopmeiners of Atalanta.

If this trend of Slot developing players continues, this could bode well for Liverpool’s youngsters such as Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah.
