James Milner has been a true legend for Liverpool Football Club.

After it was confirmed that Milner would be ending his tenure at Anfield, it’s been expected that Milner would continue his career playing for another English Premier League club next season. There were reports that Merseyside rivals Everton made a shock move for the former England star, one that was swiftly rejected by the player, but it’s been widely expected that he’ll continue by playing on the south coast next season.

Now Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to provide the latest update on Milner’s situation. Romano states that Brighton are set to announce two new midfield signings soon.

According to Romano, Brighton will unveil both James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud, a German midfielder currently playing for German giants Borussia Dortmund, as new signings very soon. Both will be joining Brighton on free transfers.

It seems to be sensible moves for Brighton. With the club expected to lose Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool soon and manager Roberto De Zerbi saying that the club expect to lose Moises Caicedo this summer too, The Seagulls could do with some midfield reinforcements for themselves. Milner is tried and tested in the English Premier League whereas Dahoud is an accomplished player who has played UEFA Champions League football for Dortmund.

The players do come with some concerns, however. Milner is not getting any younger, hitting the ripe old age of 37, and Dahoud has missed large portions of this season and last with injuries. But it may just be a case of getting players in for Brighton right now and Romano expects it to happen sooner rather than later.
