A number of candidates have been linked to the sporting director’s role at Liverpool as Julian Ward is set to depart in the summer.
Ward is one of the candidates that may take over at Ajax. He will depart Liverpool after just one season.
Interestingly, the Football Insider broke the news yesterday that Jurgen Klopp may bring a sporting director in from Germany.
This morning David Orstein has broken the news that Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting CEO Markus Krosche may join Liverpool next season.
The Athletic journalist writes:
“Another potential candidate attracting interest at Anfield is Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting CEO Markus Krosche. The 42-year-old German switched to the Bundesliga side in 2021 from RB Leipzig, signing a deal that is scheduled to run until 2025, and has forged an impressive reputation within the game.
Since his arrival, Eintracht have won the Europa League and are in the last-16 of this season’s Champions League, where they face Napoli on Tuesday.”
