Jarrad Branthwaite, currently on loan from Merseyside rivals Everton, has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp during his time away in the Netherlands.
The PSV Eindhoven loanee is having a superb season and is aware of the driving interest he has received off the back of his impressive performances in the middle of the back line.
Speaking to The Mirror, Branthwaite spoke about his career path and if he’s noticed that the big teams are coming for him.
The 21-year-old said: “I think when all of those clubs are interested and watching your games, it’s gonna be one of them where you take notice,”
“But for me it’s just about playing the games. The first half of the season, I wasn’t playing as many as I wanted, but now I’m just fully focused on doing that and performing the best I can.”
The reported interest from the Merseyside outfit may have come as a bit of a shock, but they have been sending scouts to PSV in order to monitor the Englishman.
Despite the interest from Liverpool, prising the English sensation away from their arch-rivals, Everton will be a tall order.
You feel as though they would rather sell to any other club over Liverpool, and with AS Roma an interested suitor, other teams will begin to catch the wave soon, too.
Branthwaite has been valued at £15m, but Everton may ask for more if the youngster continues his fine form in the Netherlands.
Sean Dyche will have to monitor the situation closely and with his team’s current Premier League status in jeopardy, he may need to cash in on the youngster while the interest is ripe.
It’s an unlikely transfer due to his parent club being Everton, but a talented young central defender is what Klopp wants, so this story is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
