Liverpool’s links with Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade have persisted since the summer.
The Brazilian club rejected an approach for the player by Liverpool in the summer as they were adamant they wanted the midfielder to stay at the club until the end of the domestic season.
Andre recently helped Fluminense win the Copa Libertadores and will likely leave the club this coming January.
We exclusively revealed that Liverpool were still interested in Andre despite contrary reports. Romano confirmed tonight that Liverpool were still in contact with people close to Andre but there are no firm discussions with the Brazilian side at this time. As we know, things can change quickly in football. Fulham are also interested in the Brazilian international.
Speaking to Kick.com, Fabrizio Romano reports now that Fulham lead the race for Andre.
“There is an obsession with this Andre story. Liverpool are still very well informed on the situation of Andre but Liverpool are currently not in negotiations with Fluminense.
At the moment there is not a concrete discussion. That’s the reality. They (Liverpool) wanted him in the summer but they are not negotiating now.
Fulham want Andre. Liverpool are just in contact with people close to Andre but they are not actively negotiating with Fluminense. I can’t predict the future. Interest? Yes. Negotiation. No”
