Benfica pair are being actively monitored by Liverpool ahead of busy summer window

Young Portuguese duo are on Liverpool’s transfer radar

Scouts have been sent to Portugal to observe the duo in a recent league fixture against Famalicao, according to 90min via Liverpool Echo.

It has also been reported that English side Tottenham Hotspur also sent out scouts to keep an eye on the two players, meaning the competition is already heating up.

Antonio Silva and Florentino Luis, who play centre-back and centre-midfield respectively, are the two Portuguese internationals that Liverpool are keeping tabs on.

Both positions are due renovation on Merseyside and the talented pairing from Portugal would look to cement themselves in the starting Liverpool lineup.

Portuguese club Benfica are currently dominating domestic proceedings as they sit eight points adrift from FC Porto in the Liga Portugal.

Their progression in the Champions League against Club Brugge has further showcased their status as a very competitive European outfit.

As so, the clubs come sniffing around for the young talent on display

The club are set to cut ties with their promising prospects and Liverpool will be hoping that Silva and Luis are on that list.

It comes as no surprise that both players are being watched by Liverpool scouts as they both possess qualities that typify Liverpool Football Club.

Benfica are commonly known to grow talent to the highest of levels, with Enzo Fernandez and Liverpool man Darwin Nunez prime examples of their excellent player development.
