‘As things stand a deal will be agreed for Matheus Nunes’

According to the Telegraph Nunes is a player that Pep Lijnders recommended to the club.

Liverpool are set to sign Matheus Nunes in the summer for a deal worth €50M (£44m).

The Telegraph broke the news of Liverpool’s renewed interest in the Portuguese international earlier this week.

Sam Wallace, writing for the Telegraph, has reported that as things stand Liverpool will sign Wolves’ midfielder in a move that will see him join the club in the summer.

Writing today for the Telegraph on Pep Lijnders’ influence at Liverpool, Wallace has reported that Lijnders’ recommended that Liverpool sign Nunes before he eventually joined Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wallace writes:

“Liverpool made a commitment to go back for the 24-year-old, an attacking midfielder, and as things stand a deal will be agreed at around €50 million (£44 million)for him to join in the summer.”

Speaking to The Express and Star last week Nunes said: “I put more pressure on myself because I want to be the best, but I don’t think I did enough. I have the hunger now to get to where I want to be.

I want to be better than I was in the last six months, and I think these first six months of 2023 are going to be better individually for me. mind and I’m pretty sure that I’m going to show that.”
