Alexis Mac Allister says Liverpool deserve to claim a 3-1 win over West Ham on Sunday following an impressive second-half performance at Anfield.
The Reds extended their unbeaten run to 18 games with the win. Mohamed Salah gave the Reds the lead through the penalty spot but Jarrod Bowen levelled for the visitors with an excellent stooping header.
Darwin Nunez put the hosts ahead courtesy of a Mac Allister’s clever pass before Diogo Jota sealed the points when he pounced from close range to turn home Virgil van Dijk’s header.
“Yes, as you said, maybe the first half was a bit tough. They did really well. But the second half we were the dominant team, so really happy with the performance and of course the result,” the 24-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com.
“We knew that they were going to play like this. They are a team that defend a lot and are very good in counter attack, so we scored the first goal but they got going. They are a very good side, a very tough team, but thank God we won it.
He added: “Of course. This is Liverpool. We will have to play games every three or four days, so we have to be ready for the next game and that’s what we are going to do.”
