A must win Merseyside derby for Liverpool

Is this the last Mersryside derby for some time?

Every Red across the globe will be hoping for a victory for the Red half of Merseyside tonight but this derby takes on extra significance with both sides desperate for a win.

It has even been suggested that this could be the last Merseyside derby for some time.

It’s s no secret that Liverpool have had a nightmare season so far, especially since the start of the year as Jurgen Klopp’s men have only managed to muster a single victory in seven games. An FA Cup win at Wolves.

Liverpool have scored just six goals so far this year in seven appearances. Attacking struggles coupled with defensive frailties have resulted in the Reds’ season going into freefall.

However, a win tonight against Sean Dyche’s 18th placed Everton would be a huge morale boost for the Liverpool squad and for the Anfield faithful.

Everton successfully defeated league leaders Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park in their last Premier League game, it was a typical Sean Dyche performance. The Blues have looked more solid at the back and teams will struggle to break them down under Dyche’s guidance.

Tonight is also a perfect opportunity for forwards Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez to find the net and start off a run of good form.

Cody Gakpo has yet to find the net for the Reds, if he could change that tonight it could change his season.

Liverpool have suffered a fresh injury blow as Thiago has been ruled out for up to four weeks.

Diogo Jota may make his long anticipated return tonight. The Portuguese international will have added pressure when he returns. Liverpool desperately need the type of goals he delivered early in his Liverpool career.

With bragging rights and three points at stake the Reds must find a way to collect all three points.

I’ve got a feeling that the Kop will be on form tonight, evening game under lights, let’s make it like a European game with the atmosphere, I don’t care who scores for us, I’ll even accept own goals again.come on red men just give us a win.
