Liverpool faced Aston Villa as Villa Park on Monday night and, despite leading the game 3-1 at one point, the tie finished as a 3-3 draw.

Although this game didn’t mean much to Liverpool as their Champions League place was already secured, this clash had a lot resting on it for Unai Emery’s men.

The Villans are in a battle with Tottenham for the final English Champions League place for the 2024/25 term.

And, thanks to their draw with Liverpool, Emery’s men now have a comfortable five point cushion between them and Spurs.

However, Tottenham are set to play Manchester City on Tuesday, so, by the final top flight game of the season, both the title battle and Champions League race could be turned on their heads.

So, as we enter the final top flight weekend for the 2023/24 season, here are three things we learned from the Liverpool vs Aston Villa game that could be taken into next season.
