Real Madrid defender David Alaba has spoken to German sports Magazine BILD and shared his thoughts about facings Liverpool in the next round of the UEFA Champions League.
Alaba said it “will be brutal”.
The reigning European champions Real Madrid will be eager to overcome the 6 times winners when they face each other in the first of two legs at Anfield on February 21st.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that the Reds will come into the fixture against Los Blancos in better form that recent games.
But Alaba knows that there is something special about European nights at Anfield.
“It will be a great game.
“Matches vs Liverpool are always battles, they are one of the best teams in the world.
“It will be tough, but we want to go through.”
Madrid lost their most recent La Liga game against Villareal 2-1 yesterday.
Carlo Ancellotti’s men will be aware that no matter the form of both sides going into the game at Anfield, Liverpool do not give ground easily at home in the Champions League.
One just needs to look back at that historic comeback against Barcelona in May 2019.
