Assistant manager Pep Lijnders has addressed the media ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Fulham.

Liverpool have quite a few absentees when considering the injuries and Salah and Endo’s national team commitments.

On the various injuries that are currently plaguing the squad, the Dutchman said:

“Virgil ran yesterday when we did training with the subs. He looks good to go.”

On the Spanish duo of Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic, he said:

“Both [will be back] next month. But no complications, so that’s good.”

On Dominik Szoboszlai and the rest of the squad, Lijnders reported:

“Dom is progressing well on the pitch, not far away.”

“Robbo has another scan & if that goes well, we can really decide when to have more contact.”

“Kostas is going quicker as expected. Both the left backs will probably be training with the team at the end Jan.”

Joe Gomez and the recently recalled Owen Beck will likely be the most candidates to continue to fill the left-flank.

Meanwhile, the Reds have suffered a blow regarding the fitness of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
