Liverpool’s front three certainly got the boost they needed in last night’s 2-0 win in the Merseyside Derby against local rivals Everton.
The derby game was the perfect time for Liverpool’s three forwards to find their form. They did just that with impressive individual performances. Mo Salah found the net in the 36th minute just seconds after Everton defender James Tarkowski hits the post from a header. Liverpool escaped the attempt from the visitors with a brilliant counter-attack with Darwin Nunez running like a train with the ball from his own half, eventually delivering the ball into the box for Mo Salah to place the ball into the Everton net.
It was also a big night for Netherlands international Cody Gakpo as he finally bagged his first goal in his 7th game for the club, along with a very good display from the forward holding ball and playing through passes to Nunez and Salah in the opposition box. Darwin Nunez looked much sharper on the ball too, showing his pace and running past the Everton defenders with ease, whilst Mo Salah looked like the Mo Salah we have all missed this season with his skills and quick turns causing chaos for the visitors.
With Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah finding the net and Darwin Nunez with an assist, it was a very good night for the Liverpool front three.

An improved performance from the reds. We need another improvement for Saturday and to start climbing up the table
