Reports in Spain have linked Liverpool with Athletic Bilbao midfielder Oihan Sanchet.
The report from Fichajes.net states the midfielder is Jurgen Klopp’s ‘new goal’. They also state that his contract runs out in 2024 and therefore he has a price tag of around €20M.
The report states that Klopp needs to find alternatives to Jordan Henderson and Fabinho and as the rest of the squad are too young Sanchet would be an option at 22-years-old.
The report states that midfielder who played 23 times this season is in the sights of several top European clubs.
As the report is from Fichajes it would be prudent to wait to see if any other Spanish sites report the same story.
Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Caughtoffside after he was asked whether there was any substance to those links in his Daily Substack.
“I’m not aware of any negotiation with Liverpool or Chelsea as of now. I think he’s very good player, but price tag is always very important with Athletic so it’s never easy to negotiate with them.”
Other reports state that his current release clause is €40m-€45m at the moment.
