Jurgen Klopp was in jovial form at full-time, the Liverpool boss said he ‘loved’ the display when speaking to LFCTV after tonight’s game.

“I love it (performance). Pretty much everything about the game. We needed to be lively, super lively when the other team is in possession, we need to be super aggressive.

I like it a lot in the first half. I saw it in a few moments where we were getting in a rush. The outcome should already been a bit clearer, but we found the rhythm back.

It was clear in the second half we had to get into another gear.”

Klopp commented on Darwin Nunez’s disallowed goal.

“The players are not happy. It is clear goal, in slow motion it looks like a foul. In all other situations, not. The reaction was brilliant.

Liverpool eventually did take the lead through Virgil van Dijk.

“The first one was a super rebound from Diogo, Virgil, the distance was small enough for him to bring it over the line.

Second goal was insane, super counterattack, top passes. Patience of Kostas was superb. He was waiting for Mo to be in the place. It made it a great night.”

In difficult moments when you really act like a team that is the part I enjoy about these moments. Life is a challenge, when you are all winning it is easy.

I love how the people reacted tonight and how the boys responded.

Human beings, we are strange species.  You do something good it is like ‘yeah, that was good’. The bad things you feel so much.

Liverpool face Manchester United on Sunday in a mouth-watering clash. Confidence will be high among Liverpool fans as the Reds aim to continue their march to the top four spots.

“Our next stop, Man United. Really cool, what a game. They are in good shape, we have to make sure we are the opponent we want to be”, Klopp said.
