Jurgen Klopp spoke glowingly of his team after Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 in a brilliant performance from the Reds at Anfield. Liverpool were physical, energetic and pressed all throughout the game.

It was Klopp’s 250th win as the Liverpool manager. Klopp heaped praise on the Liverpool supporters for their belief and support during the game.

“Outstanding. One point I have to make clear, I am in love with our crowd and what they did tonight. It was very special to be honest. Extremely helpful – the boys paid back.”

“It was a real derby. Difficult opponent to play against but we played the game we wanted to play and not the game Everton wanted to play.”

Klopp was particularly impressed with Liverpool’s two goals.

“The two goals were sensational counter attacks. Can you remember a situation where we had that many options in a counter attack? I can’t! Tonight we were there. We had around 70% of the ball but I think we scored two goals from counter-attacks which makes it really special.”

Klopp agreed the victory could be “a transformative moment.”

“I really thought the performance for the 95-96mins was the best for a while!”, he said.

“We’ll take wins when we don’t deserve it from time to time but it is much better when you deserve the three points.”

“Whatever the crowd asked for tonight I would have done it except take off my clothes”, Klopp said after doing his signature ‘fist bump’.
