Harvey Elliott was flying high after Liverpool’s 3-1 victory against Wolves at the weekend.
Although it went down as an own goal, it was Elliott’s deflected strike that ended up in the back of the net and secured the win for the Reds in injury time.
Minutes before, Andy Robertson’s late strike completed Liverpool’s comeback after going 1-0 down in the first half, the Scotsman’s goal making it 2-1.
Harvey Elliott praised Robertson for his performance and for his goal, citing the defender’s positive influence on the team in the dressing room as a major factor in the team’s current good form.
Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Elliott said, He’s a great guy and he’s great to have in the changing room because he is always encouraging people and wanting to bring that positive energy.
“He is as funny as anything and it’s great to be around him. I’ve no idea where [he gets his energy from]. I think he is just always energetic, he is bringing the energy into the group.
“Whenever anyone is feeling deflated in the group he is always there to pick us up and if you speak to him he’s that natural Scottish energy. What a player and what a guy.”
Robertson is well-known as a cheerful character at the club has been regarded as one of the best left-backs in world football for several years.
