Jurgen Klopp is currently in his eighth season of managing Liverpool Football Club.

It is fair to say that the German inherited a fallen giant in 2015, a club in desperate need of new ideas and rebuilding.

Fast-forward a few years and Klopp had taken LFC back to the summit if European football, crowning off the achievement with a UEFA Champions League triumph in 2019.

Many players have come and gone through the doors of Anfield in recent years, with some playing crucial roles in Klopp’s prior teams.

Therefore, here at DAVEOCKOP.com we have decided to rank the top 10 Liverpool players with the most minutes under Jurgen Klopp according to Jack Lusby.

10. James Milner – 18,287 minutes

The grizzly veteran was already 29 years old when he joined Liverpool on a free transfer in 2015.

However, age has never stopped him, and he became an important player in the early years of Klopp’s tenure.

Milner left Liverpool in at the end of last season and now turns out for Brighton on the south coast.

9. Gini Wijnaldum – 18,299 minutes

Referred to by Klopp as ‘one of the smartest players’ he’s ever coached, Wijnaldum was integral to Liverpool’s success in recent years.

His brace off the bench against Barcelona in 2019 ensures his legacy will never cease in the Reds’ folklore.

The Dutchman struck up a good understanding with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, and his presence in midfield allowed more offensive players to flourish.

He currently plys his trade with Saudi Pro-League side Al-Ettifaq, alongside Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard.

8. Virgil van Dijk – 20, 825 minutes

Liverpool’s skipper is the first player to be ranked that is still at the club.

The 32-year-old would not have registered more minutes if it were not for the season-ending injury he sustained in 2020/21.

Nonetheless, van Dijk is back to his best this season after receiving the captaincy from Jurgen Klopp.

He could leapfrog a few players ahead of him as the season starts to unravel.

7. Sadio Mane – 21,683 minutes

Another player who is no longer at Anfield, Sadio Mane is a bona fide Liverpool legend.

His goals, workrate, and old-fashioned grit endeared him to the fans.

He was sorely missed when he decided to make the ill-fated switch to Bayern Munich at the end of the 2021/22 season.

He currently plays alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi-Pro League side Al-Nassr, where he seems to be enjoying himself.

The Senegal international recently bought a club in the 4th division of French football.
