Trent Alexander Arnold has been push forward by Jurgen Klopp and last night he put in an impressive display in a new deep lying player maker role at Elland Road. The homegrown number 66 picked up 2 assists in Liverpool’s 6-1 win over Leeds.
His first assist will be pleasing for Jurgen Klopp. He regained possession in the final third and teed up Diogo Jota and in the dying minutes he capped a fine performance off with a delightful pass to substitute Darwin Núñez.
Trent Alexander Arnold is no stranger to a midfield position though, it is well documented that the West Derby hero played in midfield most of his academy career.
Eventually he gradually shifted to right-back prior to breaking into the Liverpool first team.
Could Trent possibly be shifted back into midfield for the rest of the season and maybe into next season? Last night’s performance must have surely gave Jurgen Klopp something to think about in terms of his midfield options despite being linked with Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis McAllister.
